![]() Some people might like that, but I personally feel that overusing one ingredient or flavor makes the overall dish less palatable. As an extreme example, imagine using so much ketchup in your spaghetti sauce recipe that you can barely taste the onions. device, however, overusing it will dilute or downplay other aspects of the creative work. It is a part of pop culture, specifically JP pop culture, and a lot of people enjoy it the world over.Īs with any literary/presentation/etc. There is nothing wrong with weebiness in itself, though its late great abundance may annoy some who feel cringy about it (but that's an issue with them). The term "weeaboo" itself was originally somewhat derogatory, much like the term "otaku" used to be, but both have since changed somewhat (at least around my social circles). The big ones would be mainstream anime, shounen clichés, and various associated tropes. In that sense, it somewhat encompasses mainstream shounen media & a good span of Japanese pop culture. I am using the term 'weeb' here as my peers who call themselves weeby do. Please excuse repeated disclaimers and qualifiers. So I'm going to write everything I have to say on this and probably just leave it at that. I don't want to perpetuate this comment thread, as I feel it may attract pointless arguments, but it will be good to clarify on the things you asked. I just think it sorely misses the mark, compared to the original. ![]() There are people who like Perfect Chronology, too. This is just my personal impression, though. ![]() I beat the original (true ending, challenge boss, etc.), and was looking forward to the remaster until I read about the changes and saw how the new direction seemed to be completely oblivious of the game's identity. That said, I haven't played Perfect Chronology myself, and there is DLC to revert to the original's stylized art instead of the mainstream shounen art. And it feels like weebiness was given priority over the original direction in this case. I'm not against weebiness it self, but it doesn't fit well here at all. Perfect Chronology over-weebifies it and supposedly adds an extended ending that voids the original ending's point and impact or so I've read. ![]() Radiant Historia has a somber tone, and everything about the original is in-line with it and cohesive. ![]()
